Spare heads for MPX-80 for how much longer?

Postby mswain » Thu Aug 16, 2012 3:28 pm

Hi,
I'm looking at a second hand MPX-80 to get me started in the world of engraving but notice that it has been superceded by the MPX-90.
The MPX-80 takes carbon pin cartridges whereas the 90 uses a diamond tip.
My worry is in making the investment and finding new cartridges start to become scarce.
What is Roland's commitment to ongoing availability of the cartridges?
Many thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

There are currently no plans to stop providing the replacement heads for the Metaza MPX-70/MPX-80.

Hi Matt

Further to Kai's reply you can add the fact that Roland ensure that spare parts will be available for at least 6 years from the date that production of the machine was stopped so you have a good few years use ahead yet should you decide to purchase!

If the money is right for the 2nd user machine then it could prove to be a good way to get started.
