BN-20 Desktop Inkjet Printer/Cutter compatible with Parallels (MAC)

Post by christina82 » Sat Feb 02, 2019 3:22 am

Hi,

Looking at purchasing BN-20 in time, and as I’m a Mac user don’t really want to go down route of purchasing a pc to run alongside Mac especially as space is limited.

Understand Roland software isn’t compatible with Mac but before decide to purchase an expensive piece of kit wondering if ran Parallel software alongside would this work? Plan is to design in illustrator and cut in other software such as Roland using Parallel if poss.

I have seen some customers using other machines in this way but they were network based instead of USB, parallels sometimes has difficulty managing the USB ports which you need for the BN. The idea of parallels is more for running software which isn't compatible with a Mac instead of outputting to machinery.

The cleanest route would a networked PC or laptop with a hotfolder that you can save to, which will load the job into VersaWorks.
